Shungite

Shungite is an unusual carbon-rich rock found mainly in Karelia, Russia. With its distinctive black appearance and fascinating geological history, it is quite unlike many of the crystals and minerals you’ll find in our shop.

Our Shungite collection includes bracelets, jewellery, polished pieces, carvings and other items, with new pieces added whenever we find something interesting.

Shungite has also developed a remarkable reputation over the centuries, particularly around water purification and, more recently, protection from electromagnetic fields (EMFs). While many of these claims are widely repeated, they are not supported by reliable scientific evidence. We think the real story of Shungite is interesting enough without needing to make promises about what it can do.

As with all of our crystals, you’re welcome to enjoy Shungite for its geology, its history, its appearance, or simply because you feel drawn to it. Create your own story.
