Description

Serpentine Mini Angel

These little Serpentine angels may only stand around one inch tall, but each has its own individual colouring, markings and character.

Carved and polished from natural Serpentine, they range from soft creamy green through to slightly deeper yellow-green tones, with natural variations, inclusions and markings within the stone.

Serpentine is actually the name given to a group of magnesium-rich silicate minerals, rather than one individual mineral species. Its often smooth appearance and green colouring have led to it being used for decorative carvings for centuries.

Serpentine – Not “New Jade”

You may sometimes see this pale green material marketed under the trade name “New Jade”. Despite the name, it isn’t Jade.

True Jade refers to either Jadeite or Nephrite, while this material belongs to the Serpentine mineral group. We prefer to sell it by what it actually is — Serpentine.
